FORT WORTH — Hervey Stuart Hutchins III, a retired engineer at General Dynamics, died Friday at his Fort Worth home. He was 72.

Funeral will be at 12:30 today at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Hutchins was born in Dallas and lived in Fort Worth most of his life. He was an Army Air Forces pilot during World War II and was a major. He later served in the Air Force Reserve. Mr. Hutchins worked for GD for 37 years before his retirement. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of Ridglea Presbyterian Church.

The family suggests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.

Survivors: Wife, Marthalys Wiley Hutchins of Fort Worth; two sons, Hervey Stuart Hutchins IV of Denver and Richard Wiley Hutchins of Dallas; daughter, Linda Ann Meriwether of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
