Ray was a high school graduate from Rider High School in Wichita Falls.
At the time of his death, he had worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a conductor and engineer for 10 years.
Survivors were his wife, Dianne; two daughters, Aleasha & Krystal, all of Wichita Falls; his parents, Melton & Geneva Wales; and one sister, Mary Jo Atnip, all of Oklahoma.
Services were held at the Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls where he was a member. Minister Les McGalliard officiated.
Interment in Crestview Memorial Park was under the direction of Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home.
