George J. "Pat" Patterson, 90, formerly of Fritch died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G.A. Roach officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Military rites are by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Patterson was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Tahoka to Charlie and Sara Patterson. He attended school in Lynn County and
graduated from Wilson High School in Wilson. He married Virginia Pollakowski in March 1977, in Amarillo.

He enlisted in the Navy in December 1942 and served in the South Pacific and Philippines until 1948. He was a member of Lodge 731 of Amarillo, Scottish Rite of Lubbock and Khiva Shrine of Amarillo. Mr. Patterson served several years as quartermaster of Post 1475. He retired as supervisor at the Pantex plant.

Survivors include his wife,
Virginia Patterson; a son, Bill Patterson of Amarillo; a stepson, Steven Pollakowski of Borger; a sister, Frances Buckner of Houston; a brother, Charles Patterson of Columbia, S.C.; and several grandchildren.
