Born in Covington, Va., he was the son of the late Robert E. and Florence I. Ratrie Beckner.
A member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Brodbecks, he was a retired employee of Round Hill Foods, New Oxford.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Red Lion American Legion and of the New Oxford Social and Athletic Association.
Also surviving are two sons, James Beckner, York, and Robert E. Beckner, Hanover; a daughter, Janet L. Beckner, Hanover; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Curtis (Louise) Hempfing, Hanover, and three brothers, Lee Beckner, Tampa, Fla.; Curry Beckner, Brodbecks, and Richard Wayne Beckner, Carlisle.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Gene Bucher, assisted by the Rev. Henry Miller. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
