Claude Oscar Anthony was the oldest child of James Archie Anthony and Aramina Rosalee Leatherwood. He had a twin sister, Maudie Bell, who died young. He and Ola Mae Pitcock married in Panola County, Mississippi on Sep. 1, 1908. They had eight children- six boys and two girls. He was a farmer throughout his life. When he could farm no more, he'd still hitch up his mule, Billy, just to plow his gardens. He died at a nursing home in Batesville, Mississippi.
