VANDALIA -Mary Hannah Casper Carpenter, 89, of Vandalia died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1993.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, with the Rev. William Staff officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Milford. Memorials: Senior Citizens Center of Vandalia or First United Methodist Church Tape Ministry, Vandalia.

Mrs. Carpenter was born Jan. 2, 1904, in Iroquois County, the daughter of John G. and Emily M. Kogler Casper. She was an Avon representative for 10 years until retiring and was well known for her baking. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, and United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her 2 daughters; sister, Mrs. Freda Schultz of Columbia, Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Louis Casper, one sister, Tenna Hasselbring, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
