Valine Barnett, 91, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in a local health care facility.
She was a faithful member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church and later moved her membership to New United Church where she worshipped until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Dythulia Moore; husband, Ruther Barnett; sisters, Fannie Gaines, Annie Gaines and Mattie Milner; brother, James Moore.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruby (Cecil) Hines; grandchildren, Darika (John) Priest, Felisa Jackson, Monica Jackson, all of Chattanooga, TN and Valerie Howell, of Jacksonville, FL; five great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mentory Parks; nephew, Jerome (Cathy) Dorsey, of Atlanta, GA; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating and Pastor W. McKinley Holloway as the eulogist.
Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnett will lie-in-state after noon today at Taylor Funeral Home, Chattanooga, TN. Arrangements by Taylor FH
