Visitation was from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home East in El Paso, Texas. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke United Methodist Church in El Paso. A burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at West Lawn Cemetery in Newton. Crain Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Woods was born on September 2, 1929, in Hunt City, the daughter of Artie and Opal (Short) Ives.
She married Don Woods. He survives.
She worked several years at Chevron Oil Company in the Accounts Payable Department. She then worked for Ysleta Independent School District for 18 years, ending her career as the Assistant Director of the YISDFSD.
Mrs. Woods is survived by her husband, Don Woods, of El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Tamara Cardwell and her husband, Barry, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Chris Cardwell and his wife, Maria, of El Paso, Texas, and Aundrea Kahler and her husband, Scott, of Bothell, Wash.; a brother, Roger Ives and his wife, Patti, of Mattoon; two sisters-in-law, Norma Childers and her husband, John, and Glenda Dallmier and her husband, Dick, all of Olney; several nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
