Beverley Alderson, 77, passed on April 19, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer and went peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 5, 1933, to Walter A. and Mary G. Bohn.
Beverley was preceded in death by both of her parents. She was a graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, TX and attended the University of Houston. She was an active member of St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church where she served in a number of capacities, with the members of the church being her extended family.

Mom was an only child, and we can still hear her telling us not to have an "only" child since she was so lonely growing up. We think that she has more than made up for being an "only child" with the number of brothers and sisters in Christ whom she has come to know and love over her lifetime. Mom was a woman of poise and grace at all times, steadfast in her faith, and always had a smile on her face. What an amazing woman! We can only hope to be half the person that she was.
Beverley is survived by her daughters, Lori Alderson Shafer and husband Andrew Shafer of Katy, TX, Erin Alderson and Amy Alderson both of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jordan Shafer and Emily Shafer; along with many loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at St. Cuthbert Episc. Church, 17020 West Rd, Houston, Texas 77095.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 6301 Richmond Ave., Houston, Texas 77057, 1-800-227-2345; Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd.
