Funeral Thursday

Mrs. Reubie Cobb Rudy, widow of Richard Rudy, died, at her home, 730 Jefferson street, Tuesday night at 8:10 o'clock.

Mrs. Rudy bad been in il. health since the death, of Mr. Rudy, president of the Citizens Savings Bank, last July 4. For the past several days, her condition had been critical.

Mrs. Rudy was born in Paducah and had resided here throughout her lifetime. Her birthplace was the Cobb residence on South Third street, the same house in which her now-famous brother, Irvin S. Cobb, was born a few years later.

Mrs. Rudy was the daughter of Joshua Clark Cobb and Manie Saunders Cobb, and the granddaughter of Dr. Reuben Saunders, the noted pioneer physician of Paducah. She received her early education in the public schools of Paducah, and later attended Miss Florence Hines' private school here.

Mrs. Rudy had been the constant companion of her mother until Mrs. Cobb's death in January, 1931. She and Mr. Rudy were married in February of that year.

A member of one or Paducah's most prominent families, Mrs. Rudy had a wide circle of friends. In addition to her brother, Irvin S. Cob, Mrs. Rudy Is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hewitt Howland, of New York, another brother, John S. Cobb, of Memphis, and a number of other relatives.

Irvin S. Cobb will arrive from New York Thursday morning to attend the funeral services. Mrs. Howland has been at her sister's bedside since Sunday.

The funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the residence. The Rev. F. H. Olert, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be in the mausoleum at Oak Grove cemetery.

The pallbearers will be: Edson Hart, J. D. Mocquot, James R. Smith, Jr., W. P. Paxton, George H. Goodman, Will J. Gilbert, C. Morton Hand, and George S. DuBois.
