Mallah Ruth (Berkebile) Weaver
DAVIDSVILLE — WEAVER – Mallah Ruth (Berkebile), 84, Laurel View Village, formerly of Windber, went to be with the Lord Sept. 11, 2010, at Windber Hospice. Born Feb. 14, 1926, in Johnstown, daughter of Earl and Ethel (Pearce) Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Miriam Lloyd and Phyllis Berkebile. Survived by husband of 58 years, Ernest D. Weaver; these children: Constance, wife of Mark Williams, Penn Hills; Cynthia, wife of George Swain, Prague, Czech Republic; Dale Weaver, and wife, Lori, Portland, Ore.; and Rodney Weaver, Windber; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graduate of Windber Hospital School of Nursing and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Retired guidance counselor and school nurse at Windber High School with 30 years of service. Mallah Ruth accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and served Him faithfully during her life. She loved working with children and was active in the children's ministry in her church. Her life was a testimony of her love for Christ in her work and in her personal relationships. Member of Berkey Church of the Brethren, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church, the Rev. Earl Crissman, officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windber Hospice, the Gideon's International or Berkey Church of the Brethren.
