Robert G. Adams was born on October 18, 1920 to Maurice and Gayle (Lorbach) Adams on a farm southwest of Barnum, Iowa. He attended school at Barnum Consolidated School, graduating in 1938. Robert farmed with his parents for several years. On November 26, 1944 he was united in marriage to Blanche M. Perret. They started farming east of Tara, and then moved to a larger farm northwest of Blairsburg in 1951. In 1956 they moved to their present farm north of Humboldt. Robert farmed all his life and also enjoyed trucking part time, driving for several trucking companies. He was a longtime member of the Humboldt County Farm Bureau, New Co-op and served on the board of directors for the Humboldt Co-op elevator during the 60's. Robert enjoyed helping on the farm until his health failed, his cats and dogs and spending time with his grandsons.
Left to cherish Robert's memory is his wife of 66 years, Blanche; a son, Gary Adams and his wife Kimberly of Humboldt; two grandsons, Nicholas and Jacob Adams; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Adams of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis; and three brothers, William, Eldred "Jake" and Damon Jay Adams.
