He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 27, 1940 to the late Walter and Leona Wright.
Dickie worked his entire life as a painter and was a very hard worker. He was always on the go and a truly devoted dad who always spoiled his children.
He loved to work on cars with his sons, go fishing, and watch wrestling. Dickie was a figure at the White Castle on Wilson and Broad and Broad and Central. He always looked forward to going to "the hills" as he called it, to visit family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Albert, Joe, and Junie.
Survivors include his children, Teresa (Doug) Woods, Richard (Lynda) Wright, Robert Wright, Randy Wright, Shelly (Brad) Brown, Christopher (Danielle) Wright, and Alonna (Jarrod) Wright-Skinner; sisters, Phyllis, Dorothy, and Rosie; former spouse and good friend, Christina Jones; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 West Broad St., Columbus, Ohio.
Inurnment will be held privately at Sunset Cemetery at a later date.
