Bryan, Margaret "Peggy" (nee Briddick) - Passed away at home with her family by her side after a 14 1/2 year valiant battle with cancer, Monday, January 16, 2012. Age 62. Survived by her loving husband of 37 years Sam Bryan and her daughter Patty (Sean) Deering. Three grandchildren Taylor and Dominic Kellogg, and Brennan Deering. Her sister Marilyn (Jim) Beavers and a brother Mark Briddick. Nieces and nephews Ashley, Jeremy and Justin Beavers, and Jennifer and Amy Briddick. Preceded in death by her daughter Connie Bryan, her parents Earl "Red" and Lois (nee Tallman) Briddick and her mother-in-law Faye Bryan. Graduate of JTHS Central Class of 1967, Joliet Junior College, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University and Illinois State University. Retired P.E. teacher from Minooka Junior High where she also coached track. Substitute teacher Eisenhower Academy and scorekeeper for volleyball at Joliet Central High School for 22 years. Peggy was the "Power of Pink", avid in breast cancer awareness, she led the "Volley for the Cure" at Joliet Central and Joliet West High Schools. Chairman for two years, with the relay for life in Frankfort and a collector of many Precious Moments figurines. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who's courageous spirit and smile will forever live on. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Greta McDonald officiating, Memorials to Taylor and Dominic Kellogg's college fund will be appreciated. Inurnment services Monday, January 23, 2012 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 10:00 AM. Visitation Friday from 2-8 PM.
