George was thirty-five and Sarah was thirty-four when they married.

The 1880 census revealed George was a general merchant. They were living in Abbeville, Abbeville County, South Carolina. George, Sarah and their parents were all born in South Carolina. Household members: George (40), Sarah E (39), Jannie (3), Lucy (2), Emma (8/12), three servants: Lou Fair (40), Aggie Shrors (35) and Levy Patton (16). His brother, Leonard and family were living next door and his parents lived four houses away.

The 1900 census revealed George ran a boarding house. They owned their house free of mortgage. George was born in Sept 1839 and Sarah was born in Jan 1841. They had been married twenty-four years, had four children, all still living. Household members: George (60), Sarah E (59), Jeane W (23), Lucy (21), Emma C (18), Sarah P (17) and five boarders.

The 1910 census revealed George worked for wages as a salesman for a dry goods store. Household members: George (70), Sarah E (69), Emma C (31) and Sarah P (27).

The 1920 census revealed George no longer worked. Household members: George White (80) and Sallie Perrin White (79).

They had been married forty-eight years when George died in 1923 in Abbeville, Abbeville County, South Carolina.

Death record revealed Sarah Eliza White was born January 1, 1841 and her parents were Thomas C Perrin and Jane Wardlaw. She was a widow and died of old age on April 10, 1925 at age 81 years 3 Months and 10 days in Abbeville, Abbeville County, South Carolina.

Sarah lived to age 81.

{{Mrs. George White Was Buried Yesterday. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah White were held yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs A.M. Smith, with whom she has made her home recently. The interment followed in Long Cane Cemetery.

Mrs. White died at 7 o'clock Friday evening. She had been in feeble health for some months and her death was not unexpected. Before her marriage Mrs. White was Miss Sarah E. Perrin, a daughter of Col. Thos. C. and Jane Wardlaw Perrin.

Col. Thos. Perrin was the first signer of the ordinance of secession and a man who stood high in the councils of his state in the stirring time of 1861-1865.

Mrs White was born January 1, 1841 and married Mr. George White, June 29, 1876. Mr White preceeded her to the grave about two years ago.

Mrs. White was a typical southern gentlewoman of charming personality and brilliant mind and a delightful conversationalist.

It was at her fathers home that most of President Davis' cabinet members were entertained when the last meeting was held at the Burt Mansion, and she talked most interestingly of those trying days. She was often sought as an authority on disputed questions of those history making times.

She was a life long and devoted member of the Presbyterian Church, and the sweetness of her Christian character was exemplified in her daily life. "None knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise."

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. A.M. Smith of this place, Mrs. Frank Evans of Spartanburg, Mrs. Geo. Wright of Laurens and Miss Sarah White of Washington D.C.
