Mrs. Elizabeth Baird Coulter, widow of late Dr. John Coulter, one of first practicing physicians of Venango county, died Sunday, September 8, 1901, at home of her son, Cyrus R. Coulter, Clinton township, at advanced age of 93. Survived by three children - Mrs. Thomas J. Eakin, Martha and Cyrus R. Coulter. Daughter of late Thomas Baird, who settled in Clinton township in 1796, coming from Franklin county, this state. Member of company that marched from Clinton township to defense of Erie in 1812. Had lived her entire life on farm where she died... Most remarkable physically and mentally. In Clinton township there are three other women who were schoolmates with Mrs. Coulter. Youngest 88 and eldest 96 - the latter, Mrs. Catherine Ghost, on Sunday walked alone over a mile to visit her sick friend, arriving at Coulter home a few moments after her death.... Consistent member of Presbyterian church for over 70 years. Funeral at old homestead 10 Tuesday morning, remains buried Calvert cemetery, Clinton township. Born Clinton Township 1809.
