John Roy Bradley Jr., 71, of Stillwater, died Saturday April 29th, 2006 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 4th, 2006 at First Christian Church, North Duck St. and Matthews with Dr. Bill Inglish officiating. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 2nd and Wednesday May 3rd from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home.
Bradley was born on October 29th, 1934 in Hydro, OK. to J. Roy Bradley Sr. and Minnie Reynolds Bradley. He was a graduate of Stillwater High School in 1953. He received a bachelor degree in business and an associate in Air Condition Engineering from O.S.U. John was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and other campus organizations. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge and a Life Member of the Moose Lodge. John was a perpetual member of the Masonic Lodge, York Rite Masons, Scottish Rite 32 degree Masons, and India Shriners. John served in the U.S. Navy aboard a Navy tanker.
John was a Plumbing and Mechanical Contractor for over 50 years. He is a past state president of the Oklahoma Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors and enjoyed attending the national meetings. He was a member of various other professional organizations. John was a charter member of the Stillwater Homebuilders and served 25 years on the Stillwater Trades Board.
John and Dolores enjoyed the trips they took to various meetings. He liked camping at a lake. John liked traveling with the Airstream Trailer travel club and India Suntracker travel club and was a past president. He liked participating in Shrine parades and riding his unicycle and high wheel bike.
John was predeceased by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife Dolores of 34 years; a son, Randy Bradley and grandson James of Owasso, OK; a daughter, Becky and husband David Dexter and granddaughters Amanda and Emily of Broken Arrow, OK. John is also survived by brothers Charles F. Bradley and Pat of Las Vegas, NV., and Ronny D. Bradley of Stillwater, OK. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Bob Dotter and wife Julia of Glencoe, OK.; a step daughter, Kathleen and husband Robert Jackson of Stillwater, OK; a step son Randy Houston and wife Debbie of Fordyce, AK., Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
