Gertrude Peters
Rites Saturday
Services for Mrs. Gertrude E. Peters, 74, of 4360 N.E. Thirty-eighth st., will be at noon Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Peters died of cancer Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a three year illness.
Born in Sweden, she was a Des Moines resident 35 years, formerly living in Jefferson. Before her retirement in 1963, she was a cafeteria cook for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of the company's Pioneer Club and Royal Neighbors Camp 360.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Sample, and a son M. H. Peters, both of Des Moines, six sisters, Mrs. Ellen Lighter of Aurelia and five others living in Sweden. Four brothers, Verne Selene of Jefferson, and three others also living in Sweden, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Her oldest son, Ford Selene Peters preceded het in death in 1960.
