Ina was the daughter of Max and Mary Kirschenbaum. Her siblings were Samuel Kirschenbaum, Sara Kirschenbaum Straus, and Belle Kirschenbaum Camlet. Ina was born in Manhattan and grew up in Brooklyn. She married Jerome (Jerry) Lavine on June 22, 1947. They lived in Syracuse. Jerome's parents were Isador(e) Lavine and Eva Bronstein Lavine. Isador was born Isaak Lewin, in Minsk and he came to the US in 1905. Jerome's siblings were Evelyn Lavine, Sally (Sadie) Lavine Heinonen, Hal (Hyman,nicknamed Rinky) Lavine, and a twin brother, Sanford Lavine. Jerome's stepmother was Sophie Marshall Lavine. His stepbrothers were Theodore Marshall and Sidney Marshall from Sophie's first marriage to Benjamin Marshall(ne Moscowitz).
