Mrs. Hensley was born on October 16, 1927 and was the daughter of the late, S. Brunk and Mary A. Hensley.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, William "Willie" Hensley; and a sister, Irene H. Miller.
She was a graduate of Elkton High School and was a lifelong member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton.
Annie worked at Dean Lumber Company in Elkton for many years. She will be remembered fondly for her Sunday dinners with her homemade rolls, playing croquet, playing card games, and her competitive spirit.
In May 1946, she married Randolph Hensley who survives.
In 2013, Annie and her husband moved to Journeys Crossing after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. While her diagnosis was difficult, Annie and Randolph still had a bond, caring for and helping each other when needed, as always.
The staff of Journey's was close by for help, support, and when the need was greater than what they could provide for each other.
Annie is also survived by a son, Randolph M. Hensley, Jr. and wife, Gay; daughter, Linda H. Monger and husband, Melvin "Junior"; brother, Charles E. Hensley and wife, Jackie; sisters, Ellen H. Williams, Evelyn H. Brill and Louise H. Harris; grandchildren, Chris Monger and wife, Sharon, Pamela Monger-Storey and husband, Curtis, Heather Eyestone and husband, Bill, and Heidi Feldvary and husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Lacey and Jill Monger, Marin and Arden Eyestone and Chase Feldvary and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service and burial will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 with the Reverend David Vaughn and Pastor Dan Bassett officiating.
A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Friends may visit the home of Junior and Linda Monger at anytime.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Methodist Church, 513 E. Spotswood Ave. Elkton Va. 22827.
