Louise "Lou" Bruns, 77, of Cass Lake died Wednesday at North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Ball Club.

Mrs. Bruns was born Feb. 25, 1912, at St. Joseph to Joseph and Margaret Pfannenstein. She grew up and went to school in St. Joseph, then worked on the family farm and as a domestic in the area. She married Val Bruns April 11, 1937, in Ball Club. They moved to Bena, and she lived there until 1980, when she moved to Cass Lake. She was a member of St. Charles Church and its Altar Guild and St. Anne's Circle.

She is survived by two sons, Ken and Bob of Cass Lake; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bertha Notsch and Rose Court of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966; a daughter, Betty Reimer; three brothers; and a sister. (Bemidji Pioneer Oct. 6, 1989)
