Jerry Budlow Collapses, Dies
Official of Cemetery
Jerry A. Budlow, 59, vice-president and general manager of Highland Memorial Park cemetery, died Sunday at his home. 1501 S. 58th st., West Allis, after a heart attack. A West Allis fire department rescue squad tried to revive him after he collapsed in the afternoon.
Mr. Budlow had served as vice-president and general manager of the cemetery for three years. Previously he was secretary-treasurer of its board of directors for six years. From 1920 to 1940 he had operated a meat market in West Allis.
He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Milwaukee Retail Meat Dealers' association and the West Allis Masonic lodge. He was a charter member of the West Allis Old-Timers' club. He was once vice-president of the Milwaukee County Republican club.
Born in Chicago, he lived with his parents in Kewaunee, Wis., and Appleton before coming to West Allis in 1904.
Surviving are his wife, Eugenia; a son, Gilbert C., both of West Allis; a sister, Dr. Isabel Budlow; his mother, Mrs. Katherine Budlow, and a brother, Robert, all of Seattle, Wash.
Services will be held at the Borgwardt funeral home, 1603 S. 81st st., West Allis, at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. The body will be at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
