Funeral services for Margaret Ann Abbott, 78, of Logan will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, John McKoy officiating, with interment in Shady Grove Cemetery in Logan.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Abbott died Tuesday, December 27, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born July 24, 1933, in Cullman to Charles and Mollie McKenny Shikle. She worked in a sewing factory. "Maw Maw" loved her life, her family and most important — she loved the Lord. Family was so important to her. She was hard working and always there for her family. She battled the disease vascular dementia for several years and was very strong and sweet during the battle. She decided to give up the battle and claim her crown of glory on December 27, 2011. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll Abbott; a son, Timothy Carroll Abbott; and two brothers, William Robert Shikle and Charles Mack Shikle.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Jerita) Abbott, Gary (Vickie) Garner and Thomas Abbott; three daughters, Joyce (Phillip) Wilhite, Deborah (Randy) Hale and Karen (Mike) Lynn; a brother, Frank Shikle; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
