She graduated from Caruthersville High School in 1929 and attended Caruthersville Junior College, Bethel Woman's College, Hopkinsville, Ky. and Memphis State College, Memphis, Tenn. She was married to Chester J. Butler on March 1, 1931 at Osceola, Ark. and they moved to California in 1935.
She was a member of Greenleaf Avenue Baptist Church, Whittier, where funeral services were held Thursday, March 16. Burial was in Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier.
She leaves her husband, Chester J. Butler; her mother, Mrs. W.S. Ham and step-father, Mr. Ham of Sundown, Texas; a sister, Mrs. J.B. Light of Hayti; a half-sister, Mrs. Alfred Ballard, Pomona, Calif., a half-brother, Wilford Lynn, Sheffield, Ala. and two step-brothers, Harold Ham and W.S. Ham Jr. of California.
