Married Hugh Rose Doar, who I believe to be buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, SC, along with their son, Hugh Rose Doar Jr.
DOAR, Hugh Rose (1835?–1871): SJMR, 5/E–PVT, Charleston Dist. b. abt. 1835, Charleston, SC. 5' 6" tall, dark eyes, dark hair, dark complexion. Residence: Christ Church Parish, Charleston Dist., SC; occupation: farmer. Enlisted at McClellanville, SC, 19 Mar 1862, age 27. Trans. to Co. O, 20th SC Infantry, 26 Sep 1863, and following the disbanding of that unit, to Co. D, 2d SC Cavalry, 5 May 1864. Deserted to the enemy and released on oath at Charleston, SC, 27 Apr 1865. Post-war, farmer in Charleston Co., SC. d. 25 Jul 1871. Mary Jane DOAR of 1 Atlantic St., Charleston, SC, applied for a Confederate widow's pension based on his service, 17 Oct 1919, and stated that he was discharged at Fort Fisher, NC, in 1865. Brother of John Watts DOAR.
