Lifelong resident of the Warwoman area of Rabun Co. Ga. Married to Stacy Blythe, who was one half Cherokee. Served in The War For Southern Independence in Co.C. 4th Ga. Cavalry (State Guards) as a Pvt. and later in Co.F. 11th Ga. Cavalry as a Lt. Listed in 1860 Rabun Co. census with wife Stacy and children: James 9, Sarah 7, Mariah A. 5, Samuel 4, and Tabitha 1.
