Ocala – Dorothy Yvonne Shores passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2001. She was born in Plant City, FL on Jan. 4, 1936 to the late Harley H. and Ruby L. Hemphill. She retired from the City of Ocala Police Dept. with 31 years of service. Her pleasure in life was being with her children, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald R. Shores and brother, Donald E. Hemphill. She leaves to cherish her memory, her five children, Kim Marcum (Conrad), Jeff Shores (Marsha), Kellie Hunter (Tim), Dania Neveau (Brian Cossin) and Tracie Steinhart (Dennis) all of Ocala. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Beverly Hemphill (Ron Swanson) of Haines City and Louanna Morris (Jack) of Hilton Head, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews. Last but not least her beloved dog, Georglepug. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County. A Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
