David M, "Mike" Ginley, 62, Markleville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Saint John's Medical Center in Anderson following a four-month battle with lung cancer.

He was born on June 30, 1949, in Anderson, to Paul and Virginia (Blakeley) Ginley.

He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1968.

Mike was employed as a farm manager for the former Ciba-Geigy Agricultural Chemical Co. in Florida, and also was a self employed landscaper and citrus grove maintainer. After returning to Indiana, he drove a semi truck for others and even owned his truck.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Penny Sue (Wood) Ginley; one son, Michael R. "Ryan" Ginley of Markleville; two sisters, Barbara (husband, Paul) Hughes of Pendleton and Marcia (husband, Bob) Burke of Anderson; a half brother, Gene Ginley of Anderson; a half sister, Jackie (husband, Gordon) Brachula of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Ginley and Ralph Ginley; and his grandparents, Charles and Blanche Blakeley.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with the Rev. Claude Creel officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton.
