On November 12, 1982, 62-year-old banking executive LaRoy Earl Gorman was shot and killed while getting into his car after eating dinner in a Charleston WV restaurant. A man sitting in a car in the adjacent parking space had been waiting for him, and an argument broke out. When Gorman turned his back to get into his car, the man shot him. The murder was never solved.
