Peggy was born on February 5, 1931, in Natalia, Texas to Joseph A. Kempf and Avis Crawford Kempf. She had worked as a bus driver for the Pasadena, Texas school district before moving to Hemphill, where she again drove a school bus for Hemphill ISD. She enjoyed her job and loved being around all the children.
Peggy was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She spent a lot of time spoiling her great grandchildren. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed including fishing, hunting, bird watching, collecting porcelain dolls, sewing, and her lilies. She was an adventurous lady that loved going to the beach and to her church, Rosevine Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Lloyd Bryant and grandson, Allen Nix.
She is survived by her five children, Diane Husband, Steve Bryant and wife, Janis, Deana Bryant, Karl Bryant and wife, Sandy, Ruth Walthall and husband, Phillip; her best friend, Pearline Tate; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
A celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26th at Rosevine Missionary Baptist, Rosevine, Texas with graveside services immediately after at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
