Austin Addams, a cousin of Jane Addams, and the last member of a family of eleven children, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home, 825 Auburn Street, from dropsy.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at the home, the Rev. D. E. Williamson officiating. Interment will be in the West Side Cemetery.
Mr. Addams was born in Sinking Springs, Pa., May 7, 1847, and came to Illinois in his early childhood. His boyhood was spent in Stephenson County, but for the last thirty years he has lived in Rockford. He was a machinist by trade but for the last twelve years has devoted himself to gardening. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son. The latter are Mrs. William Moore of Beloit, Elizabeth, Alice and Charles at home.
