ELKHART - Richard J. Growcock, 61, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. The Elkhart native was born December 31, 1949 to Richard H. & E. Jane (Amsden) Growcock. Dick was a US Air Force veteran. He worked as a Roadway Maintenance Supervisor for the ITRCC and was a former member of the Coachmen Auto Club, having served in several capacities there. Dick enjoyed drag racing, model airplanes, cars, computers & movies. He is survived by his wife, Sharon S. (Hart-Robinson) Growcock of Elkhart; step-daughter, Danielle (James) Rodak of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Deidre (Nathan) Sechrist and Gretchen Growcock, both of Elkhart; son, Andrew (Sara) Growcock of Las Vegas; his mother, E. Jane Growcock of Elkhart; sisters, Susan Growcock of Vandalia, MI; Sandra (Benjamin) Grove of Elkhart; his grandchildren, Jourdan, Jesse, Takoda, Nathalan, Zayne, Adam & Xander, and his faithful dog, Gypsie. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Growcock. Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.
