Services for Mother Coty Cooper Barnes are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Greater New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church on Cairo. Interment is at Conyers Cemetery, with the Rev. Morris Evans, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Barnes died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. A Decatur County native, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Janie Davis Cooper. She was a member of Greater New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sanjo Poteat (Warren); grandson, Lois Van Poteat Jr.; great-grandsons, Tyler L. Poteat, Louis Van Poteat III; a very devoted nephew, Samuel Byrd; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. — Weston's Funeral Home
