Entertainer. For 18 years he was partnered with Gus Van in the vaudeville team Van and Schenck, the best known of all two-men singing combinations. They met while working on a trolley car in Canarsie - Schenck as conductor and Van as motorman. They headlined several Ziegfeld Follies, and appeared in every major vaudeville theater in America.
