Irene was born in Douglas City, CA. She spent her childhood on the Mabie Ranch and afterwards moved to Deadwood, CA with her parents. On Oct. 21, 1896, at high noon, she was married at Clement's Ranch to Jerry Brown of Deadwood. She was of an attractive disposition and easily won friends in every community in which she lived. A dutiful daughter and a loving wife she will be sadly missed in the home circle. She was buried at sundown. Irene leaves a husband, parents and a grandmother and other relatives to mourn.
