Adam Dietrich, 79, of Moneta, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his residence. He was born May 25, 1929, in Yugoslavia, a son of the late Adam Andreas Dietrich and Christine Neider Dietrich. Adam was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Adam was a skilled stone and brick mason who honed his craft in Austria before immigrating to the United States in 1955. He proudly became a citizen of the United States in 1965. In 1983 he and his wife, Nancy, started their own successful business, Life of the Party Candy Molds where he designed and created the molds. He retired in 1994 and moved to Smith Mountain Lake in 1996. Adam is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Marilyn Coe Dietrich; six children, Donna A. Dietrich, of Bedford, Adam Philip Dietrich and his wife, Tricia, of Florida, Deborah D. Davis and her husband, Greg, of Botetourt, Brian A. Dietrich, of Florida, Darlene M. Mayes and her husband, Kevin, of Missouri, and Wendy Ferrar, of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Jessica Dietrich, Kyle Dietrich, Ashley Mayes, Kasey Davis and Madison Mayes; and a sister, Laura Winay and her husband, Paul, of New Jersey. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 2840 Electric Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018. A celebration of Adam's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2008, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Lord officiating.
