Jonathan Elkins, son of Captain Henry and Mary (Moore) Elkins was born about 1783.

He was baptized March 9, 1783 at Hampton, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

Jonathan Elkins served in the War of 1812. Pension Application; Enlistment Date: May 25, 1814; Date Discharged: July 6, 1814; Pension Number - #1: WC 12199; Pension Number - #2: WC 12199; Bounty Land Number - #1: 70040 160 55

He married Joanna Drew, daughter of Joshua and Hannah (Unknown) Drew, of Northwood, January, 1819; they lived at Bride Hill.

They had nine children from this union:
