ARMSTRONG, MARVIN (MICKEY) A., JR. - age 78 of Knoxville was born July 4, 1932 and passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and I.B.E.W. Local #760. Veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Associated Electrical Contractors. Preceded in death by parents, Marvin and Irene Armstrong; and father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Chloe Patterson. Survived by wife of 55 years, Peggy; sons, Gary and wife Tammie, Doug and wife Dianne Faye, and Daniel and wife Devah; grandchildren, Sara Demoiny and husband Sebastien, Katie McCroskey and husband Darren, Kerri Brown and husband Donald, Chris Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Mario Armstrong, Chloe Armstrong, Molly Armstrong; great grandson, Jude Armstrong; sisters, Betty Kinder and Skippy Carpenter Bishop; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Watkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Paul United Methodist Church (East), 6500 Faith Lane, Knoxville, TN 37924. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by East TN Veteran Honor Guard.
