Ionia Sentinel-Standard Monday., October 4, 1965

George L. Sage, 76, died Sunday afternoon at his home at 615 Batson court.

He was a farmer all his life and moved to Ionia in July from the Ionia township farm where he had resided. Following his marriage to Grace Bowman June 15, 1910, they lived in the Lyons-Muir area until they purchased the homestead farm in 1928.

Mr Sage was born October 15, 1888, the son of Mr and Mrs George W. Sage.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; a daughter, Mrs Floyd Trumble of Fenwick; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Phillip of Big Rapids. A son, Wayne, preceded him in death in 1960.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m., at Myers funeral home with burial at Balcom Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Burgess of Temple Baptist church will officiate.

The family will be at Myers funeral home Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 until 9 to receive friends."

GEORGE L. SAGE - Funeral service was at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon for George L. Sage, 76, of 615 Batson court, who died Sunday. The Rev. Gary Burgess of Temple Baptist church officiated and interment was at Balcom Cemetery.
