One of the Pikes Peak region's well-known pioneers passed to the Great Beyond last Thursday night, in the death of Mrs. Anna L. Watts, 68, of Monument at a Colorado Springs Hospital.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the Law drawing room, Rev. R. J. Jasstedt officiating. Interment was in the Elbert Cemetery.
Mrs. Watts, daughter of the late Alexander Brazelton, who died September 9, 1938, was born October 26, 1875, in Elbert. She was the widow of William D. Watts, who died April 22, 1930, in Monument.
Mrs. Watts moved from Elbert to Monument 35 years ago and had served many years as a member of the schoolboard at monument before resigning last february. She was one of those responsible for the forming of the Lewis Consolidated school at Monument, and was member of the monument Presbyterian church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Emma Johnson, Castle Rock, and Mrs. Norma Hunt, 2016North Tejon Street, a son William A Watts, Miami, Fla; two brothers, Joseph C. Brazelton, Elbert, and Ralph Brazelton, Sparta, Mo.;two sisters, Mrs. Clara Elsner, 1324 North Corona street, and Mrs. Ida Epler, Lafayette, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Mrs. Anna L. Watts, a resident here for many years, passed away at a hospital in Colorado Springs May 4, 1939. Mrs. Watts was an active member in the Ladies' aid and Woman's club here and was secretary of the school board for several years. She was loved by all who knew her.
