SAVONBURG - Earl Dean Alford, 70, Savonburg, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Wichita Specialty Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1923, at Chanute Johnson Hospital, the son of F. Marion and Dolley McKinney Alford.
He grew up in the Leanna community and graduated from Chanute High School.
He was a farmer on the family farm and a member of the First Christian Church for 40 years and a past 4-H leader.
On July 6, 1947, he married Betty Hartman. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Marion Alford, North Richland Hills, Texas, Paul Alford, Savonburg, John Alford, Admire, and Alan Alford, Port Chester, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at First Christian Church, led by the Rev. Dan Haggard. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
