Funeral services for Jesse Lee "Sonny Boy" Abbott, Jr., 81, of Blackville, SC will be held three-thirty p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Healing Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Tuesday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Sonny Boy passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011.
Born in Lexington County, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee Abbott, Sr. and Lizzie Bolin Abbott and was married to the late Alberta Porter Abbott. He retired from E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant and was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Donnie (Donna Jean) Abbott, Bobby (Peggy) Abbott, Sr., Patt Abbott all of Blackville; grandchildren, Lee (Laurie) Abbott, Jay (Holly) Abbott, Bobby Abbott, Jr., Allison (Jason) Chatfield, Brittany Abbott, Stephanie (Jason) Davis, Christina (Bobby) Collins, Rebecca Templeton; great grandchildren, Christian Abbott, Patrick Abbott, Michael Chatfield, Sarah Chatfield, Sheldon Collins, Kallie Abbott, Brealyn Chavis, Catherine Abbott, Austin & Caylee Davis; sisters, Lois (Billy) Barr, Mozelle A. Sheffield, Rose E. Willis, Louise A. (Ed) Rollins; a dear family friend, Erma Raber. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Joyce Owens.
