Opal Jackson Boruff (August 18, 1913 - October 29, 2008)

Opal Boruff, of Dallas, Texas, went to be with her personal Savior and blessed Lord on October 29, 2008, at the age of 95. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she left a special legacy of personal sacrifice and devotion to her family and to her Lord. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 18, 1913. She married Bert R. Boruff on November 20, 1929, and was a loving and devoted wife for 53 years until Bert's death in 1983. They had a glorious and wonderful life together, and raised three sons, William, Robert and James. In 1955, they moved to Dallas from Indiana and started a business, Bert's Service, and later started Commercial Ice Machines of Dallas. Opal was part owner of the business and worked there until 1991. She was a member of Lake Ridge Bible Church in Mesquite. She loved and served her Lord and personal Savior from an early age. She treasured her personal relationship with Him and she trusted Him for her salvation and His wonderful promise of eternal life. She considered her family to be the greatest blessing that the Lord had given her in her lifetime. Her deep love, total commitment, and extraordinary devotion to her family were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home.
Opal's memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
Burial will follow in Restland Memorial Park.

Two of Opal's favorite scriptures are: "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" John 11:25-26. "In My Father's house are many rooms: if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:2-3.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the library at Lake Ridge Bible Church.
