Walter Adams, resident of Gunnison county for thirty years, died at seven o'clock last night, February 16, at the Rio Grande hospital in Salida. He was apparently recuperating quite rapidly following an operation last Thursday for ulcers of the stomach and appendicitis, but died very suddenly. Mrs. Adams was in the room with her husband and had just turned to leave when she heard a peculiar sound from her husband and stepped back to his bedside to find him dead. He was a ranchman. The deceased was born in Neosho, Missouri, on February 2, 1874. He was married to Miss Georgia F. Harmon at Dayton, Missouri, February 23, 1896, and they moved to Colorado the following year. Five children were born to them, of whom four are still living; Earl, of Alamosa; Mrs. Carroll H. Christie of Gunnison and Dorothy and Edward, also of Gunnison. The body was sent from the Travers & Boham parlors this morning to Gunnison.
