Pearl Eva Kattnig - Florence Citizen - October 2, 1986 - Funeral services were held Sept. 27 for Mrs. Pearl Eva (Bone) Kattnig, of Canon City. She died Sept. 21 at Shelby, Mich. while visiting with her daughter Juanita J. Schultz. She was 85. Services were held at the Florence Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Gervais officiating. Tom Graham on the organ also sang "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were six of her grandsons.. Mrs. Kattnig was born Aug. 30, 1901 at Primrose [Penrose?], Colorado. She had been a resident of Canon City the past five years, moving there from Florence where she had lived since 1916. On Feb. 19, 1927 at Silver Cliff, she and Martin Kattnig Sr. were married. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a sister Nina Moran. Survivors include daughters and sons, one daughter of Shelby, Mich.; one daughter of Pueblo; a daughter and son of Canon City; a son of Penrose and a son of Tahatchi, NM. Fourteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive. Also surviving are seven sisters and a brother. Burial was at Union Highland Cemetery, Florence. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute to the Fremont County Nursing Service through the Florence Mortuary.
