This is a portrait photo of Ethel Marguerite Jones taken in 1926 in Savannah, Georgia. She was single, her age was 17, and she was exactly 5 feet in height. At the time of this photo she was living in Savannah with her half-sister, Annie E. Jones Conner, a widow, and was also spending some time with another half-sister, Lula Durrence Goldberg. Her father, Martin Eastwood Jones (1844-1925), had just passed away and she, youngest child and only minor child in her father's household, was required by her surviving female siblings to move from her home in rural Canoochee district of Evans County to Savannah, Georgia to be with her grown sisters till she was of legal age.
