John Story fought with the Company A, 4th Georgia Sharpshooters.
John enlisted August 24, 1861 as a private. He was wounded at Hoover's Station, TN, on June the 24th of 1863. John was also wounded at Chickamagua in September of 1863. He was then caputred at Missionary Ridge on November 25th in 1863. John was released in New Orleans on May 23 1865. He died at home, sometime after the Civil War was over.

John Story was buried behind his and his wife's home. John's was the first grave in this cemetery.

The Cemetery has had many names since this time. It was known as the Story/Connell Cemetery and now it is know as the Bazel Connell Cemetery. Bazel Connell was John's Father-In-Law
