Mrs. Amy B. Greenland of Star Route,Huntingdon, passed away at her home on Thursday evening April 12,1956 at 8:15 o'clock.She had been ill since April 2 and death was due lo a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born at Calvin on January 4, 1877, and was a daughter of Christian Miller Pheasant and Martha (Mierley) Pheasant.She was united in marriage to Harry Greenland in 1896 and he preceded her in death in 1923.Following marriage she and her husband resided in Altoona and Duncansville for a number of years, but in 1915 they returned to Trough Creek Valley. The greater part of her life had been spent in Trough Creek Valley. Mrs. Greenland was a member of the Calvin Methodist Church and as active In church andSunday School work. She was good neighbor, a kind friend an one who was interested in anything for the betterment of her Community.She is survived by one son, Vincent Greenland of Port Matilda and one foster-son, Clair Colbert of Star Route,Huntingdon.Two daughters died in infancy.Also surviving ave two grandsons, John and Jack Greenland of Port Matilda, two great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews,and two sisters: Mrs. Bessie Greenland of Star Route, Huntingdon and Mrs. Florence Mansbarger of RD., Huntingdon. Three sisters,one brother and three half-sisters proceded her in death.Funeral service's will be held a the Calvin Methodist Church on Sunday, April 15, 1956, at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Samuel RKissiel assisted by the Rev. Bruce Cleaver and the Rev. Charles Wisler. Interment will be made in the Trough Creek Baptist cemetery.Friends may call at the Clair Colbert home after 3 p.m. Saturday and until 12 noon on Sunday when the body will be taken to the church.
