Irene E. Claypool, age 82 of Bemidji, Minn. died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Neilson Place, Bemidji, Minn.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn. with Rev. Derek Claypool officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Alaska Township Cemetery, Beltrami County, Minn. under the direction of the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.
Casket Bearers will be Brad Simenson, Ken Wells, Jack Cronemiller, Christopher Claypool, John Wells and Ryan Cronemiller.
Irene Esther Dokken was born June 24, 1928 in Clearbrook, Minn. to Gayhart and Mabel (Brun) Dokken. She grew up in Clearbrook, Minn. and graduated from Clearbrook High School. She received an accounting degree from Bemidji Business College. Irene married John Claypool on December 26, 1949 in Clearbrook, Minn. They lived in Sioux City, Iowa; Side Lake Minn and returned to Bemidji, Minn. in 1955 where they raised their family. In 1968 Irene went to work for H & R Block where she worked until 1980. She then worked with her husband as the bookkeeper for J.H. Claypool Construction Company until retiring in 1986. They enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with their family.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Claypool, Escandido, CA; daughters, Janet (Brad) Simenson, Ham Lake, Minn.; Yvonne (Jack) Cronemiller, Bemidji, Minn. and Mary (Ken) Wells, Elk River, Minn. 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Gayhart & Mabel Dokken, Husband, John Claypool, Brother, James Dokken, Sister, Janette Larson and Granddaughter, Angela Simenson.
