Born c.1764 to Enoch Beach and his first wife, the former Susannah Day, Darling Beach died in the "29th Year of his Age". According to church records, the young man was survived by his wife, the former Keturah ("Kitty") Green, to whom he was married on March 31, 1790, and their young daughter, Elizabeth. Beach's gravestone has a pear-faced soul effigy in the style of carver Uzal Ward of Newark, and a simple epitaph that reads:
"His life was exemplary, his death was happy".
